Also known as the Home Heat Cost Reduction Obligation, this is an obligation that provides free boiler and insulation grants to those who receive certain means-tested benefits. The latest phase will run until March 2026 which gives households that missed out on the first three ECO programs an opportunity to benefit from warm housing policies. Under previous ECO schemes, grant funding was given for gas boilers, oil boilers, LPG boilers, and electric heaters. Whereas now ECO4 is limited to gas boilers only.
